Welcome to the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Jakarta.

We represent the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in matters between Hong Kong and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as a whole. Hong Kong and ASEAN have close bilateral relations and long-standing ties. ASEAN is Hong Kong’s second largest trading partner, registering an annual average growth rate of over 5% in merchandise trade in the past few years. ASEAN is also one of Hong Kong’s largest trade-in-services partners. In 2017, Hong Kong and ASEAN forged a Free Trade Agreement and an Investment Agreement, with a view to further enhancing trade and investment flows between the two places, generating new business opportunities and boosting the economic growth in the longer term.

This office handles in particular matters between Hong Kong and the ASEAN countries of Indonesia and Timor-Leste, as well as Sri Lanka. Together with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Offices in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, we strive to further strengthen Hong Kong's ties with ASEAN and nearby countries and enhance our trade, economic and cultural relations with this dynamic and enticing region.

As Asia's world city and the gateway to China, Hong Kong is known around the world as the freest economy, the hub for international business as well as a highly competitive financial and services centre.
